Why do I see drivers from 2006 in AVG Driver Updater?
They must have been updated a while ago?

Seeing drivers from 2006 in AVG Driver Updater does not necessarily mean that AVG thinks those drivers were released in 2006 and have never been updated.
The date shown can sometimes refer to the driver package, driver metadata or the date associated with a particular version that Windows reports. Some hardware also continues using older driver packages for compatibility even on newer versions of Windows.
If the device is working properly and Windows Update or the manufacturer’s website shows a newer compatible driver, I would compare the version number and release date there rather than relying only on the date displayed in Driver Updater.
But I agree, seeing “2006” at first definitely looks strange.

AVG’s Driver Updater uses Microsoft’s Driver ranks to determine which drivers to offer for update.
This is determined by different criteria, including date, driver manufacturer, and other factors.
So it may be that an older driver is offered if they have a better rank than a newer driver.
