Hello to the community,
I 'm using AVG Antivirus free and just half an hour ago I received a message from AVG saying that a threat has been detected. The file was:
c:\windows\temp\opera installer\installer.exe
I recently installed Opera as an additional browser from the official site of Opera. Based on the creation date of the folder I think that the folder has been created during the installation of the Opera browser so it has to be legit.
Is this a false positive? Does anyone else received a similar warning from AVG?
I also want to mention that AVG had been updated a few minutes before the detection.
Any information about this would be appreciated.
Dear Mr.Alan,
I appreciate this community work and I am in favor of every rule but I think the irony in your response is unjastified and unneccessary (You won't obtain an answer to your query any faster!). It was my first post and after I pressed the post button I got an "insufficient privileges" warning and nothing to confirm that my question had been posted. After my third try, I realised that it wasn't my problem but a bug in the procedure and my post had been submitted 3 times for review. You can easily see this from the date and time of each post.
With all the good will and based on the above fact, I think that a fix in this procedure would be more useful than an ironic answer.
Anyway, thank you for getting in trouble to answer me
Ioannis, In future please refrain from carrying out multiple topic postings on the same subject! You won't obtain an answer to your query any faster!. Also please try to keep the whole conversation in one question/thread to speed up any resolution. Please see your other posting (https://support.avg.com/answers?id=906b0000000Db0rAAC).
