We have had an issue this week with around a dozen PCs coming into the shop stuck on the Starting Windows screen. At first we thought it was the usual Windows updates issues but as we looked closer at the problem found that the only way to fix this and to get the PC to boot was to boot into safe mode, remove AVG restart and all was fine. It worked first time on all the PCs and they are still coming in. Is there a fix for this?
I am having the exact same problem. Suddenly machines are not able to reboot and become stuck on "Starting Windows". We are currently using Cloudcare with AVG Version 16.151.8013, Framework 1.143.2.51391, Setup Version 1.143.2.51391. The following components are installed:
AVG Advisor, Anti-Rootkit, Anti-Spyware, Antivirus, Online Shield, Resident Shield, Software Analyzer, SurfShield.
The Virus DB Version is 4791/15170 (11/30/2017 5:01AM)
LinkScanner Version 3015

We will be able to identify the issue, if we get the log files of AVG from the PC that has the issue.
Before doing this, please let us know whether you are using the latest AVG Antivirus 2017 version and check whether it is up to date.
