Sorry for delay in response. The version of my AVG is 18.5.3059. I did right click on the bottom but have no option to disable it. All I get is unpin this program from taskbar and AVG Internet Security. Something is very wrong with my program. I will try the repair option and see if that helps. This is very frustrating and thank you for your help. I will let you know if the repair works also..
I followed your instructions and set up a remote session this past Thursday/.The technician did a great job resolving the issue and we were able to finally disable AVG and I was able to download the PDF file. I was delighted and saved it on my desk top. But the moment that I enabled AVG it sucked up the book like a shark on a fish and I only discovered that after the technician and I had ended the session;. So I went back and initiated a second remote session. The technician worked diligently on it and said that he had this issue several times and would be able to fix it. He changed all kinds of setting in AVG, etc and so forth and worked for almost an hour. He finally disabled AVG and the same thing happened once AVG was enabled again. He told me he was escalating it up the line and I would hear from someone shortly. I have not heard from anyone and I still cant get the book because each time I disable it downloads perfectly but the warning shows up the instant that I enable it and the book is sucked up into AVG and swept away. What to do now? I want that book badly. Thanks so much. Joan O'Brien.
I am beyond frustrated, sorry about that. I have a free book in PDF format and I cannot download it because I get a false virus warning PDF :UrMal-inf[Trj]. constantly. I have not had any problems getting PDF files which ARE safe. This one comes from BOOK FUNNEL and we have been communicating all day and they have not been able to fix the problem. I also have set a schedule for AVG to scan my computer at a certain time (because I would forget to do it) and no matter how hard I try it doesn't work. Also I was going to try disabling AVG so I could get this file but I have no advance settings anymore. This is a paid version and I am about going nuts already. Please help. Thank you so much. Joan O'Brien
Hello Joan,
We will work together to sort this out.
Please let me know the version of AVG program installed on your computer.
To check the version, open AVG Internet Security, click on "Menu->About".
Follow the below steps to disable AVG Protection and check if you are able to download the PDF file.
To disable AVG temporarily, please right click on the AVG icon present at the bottom right corner of your desktop(System Tray) and you can see a scroll bar to "Disable Protection". Please click on the same to disable AVG Protection and check if you are able to access this application.
Regarding Scheduled scan issue, please repair http://avgclick.me/RepairAVG AVG and check.
I see that your case has been escalated to the senior most team.
They are analyzing the logs, will soon contact you via email with a solution.
We appreciate your time and co-operation.
These details were added to the escalation and they will analyse this as well.
Joan, you must right click on the AVG icon present in the system tray (please check the image above for reference). Anyway, we appreciate your efforts in this matter and await your reply to assist you further.
I was unable to get a screen shot of the warning I got this morning since I didn't know you wanted it I closed it. All I have is this one that I got from my quarantine area
Thank you SO much for this help. I will be following your instructions ASAP. I so appreciate this, more than you will ever know. <3
This is the other screen shot that I was able to get.
Trying to be as cooperative as possible under these circumstances. This morning when my AVG did a scan the warning as a serious serious threat (the same one that has been popping up when I tried to download the PDF) Additionally, although the scheduled scan had been fixed remotely the other day, it is not working obviously because when I checked when the last scan was done the message was one day ago. I am really confused. Thanks for you help.
You are most welcome, Joan.
If you need anything else, do not hesitate to let us know.
