Permanently turning off enhanced firewall in AVG free

Hi,

thank you for your answer. I know I should not have two firewalls that is why I was looking for a way to disable AVG firewall I have installed by accident… Fortunately I have found a way to disable the firewall by uninstalling it. Just went to windows settings and in the list of installed apps I chose to uninstall AVG. Afterwards I got a list of options to repair/uninstall components and I chose to uninstall just the firewall and kept the antivirus. That permanently disabled the firewall.
Have a nice day

How can I permanently turn off/uninstall enhanced firewall?
Recently I had to reinstall AVG free and when I did I found out it came with firewall as default. I did not know it would install alongside the antivirus. I have been using another firewall (not windows fw) for a couple of years and I am satisfied with it, so I want to keep it. And I see no point in running two firewalls at the same time.
How can I permanently turn avg firewall off? The only options I have is to temporarily disable for a certain period of time or until next reboot. I do not want to have to disable it everytime I start my PC! And I want to keep the other firewall.
Thank you for the answer

Hello J Z,
Thank you for reaching AVG Community Support.
We understand your concern regarding turning off the enhanced firewall permanently.
Unfortunately, there is no option to turn off the Firewall permanently, you can only disable temporarily. We will take this as a feedback and forward it to the concerned team.
To ensure your full security, Enhanced Firewall is enabled by default. We recommend you keep Enhanced Firewall enabled at all times, unless you need to temporarily disable it for troubleshooting purposes.
To disable Enhanced Firewall temporarily:
Open AVG AntiVirus and click the Web & Email tile on the main application screen.
Click Open above Enhanced Firewall.
Click the green (ON) slider, then select a time duration to specify how long Enhanced Firewall will remain disabled.
Click OK, stop to confirm.
The slider is red (OFF), and Enhanced Firewall is disabled for the selected time duration. To manually enable Firewall, follow steps 1-2 above, then click the red (OFF) slider so that it changes to green (ON).
Note: Also, please be informed that if you have two firewalls, it will conflict with each other.
If you still require assistance, please write back to us. We're glad to help you.
