Persistent warning

Janet,

We will certainly have a look at it. Please share the screenshot https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201361 of that threat detection message, your MAC OS version http://https//support.apple.com/en-us/HT201260 and AVG version to have better understanding.

To find out the version you can follow user manual, part 4.3. Menu in the task bar
http://files-download.avg.com/doc/AVG_AntiVirus_for_Mac/avg_avm_uma_en_ltst_03.pdf

As full path of detection is not fully visible from UI very often, please provide us with the full path. You can copy the path by right clicking on the detection path and paste it here.

Thanks for waiting patiently, Janet.

To stop this threat detection, follow the below steps:

AVG -> download all emails from Airmail 3 -> locate the concrete e-mail and permanently delete it.

Restart the device and check the status of the issue.

Thanks.

Hi there  I'm getting a repeated warning about a threat secured however, there isn't a matching email, it's been quarantined and removed.  I'm running the free version of AVG on a MacBook air.

Did you not read the problem?  There was no offending email that is causing this problem.  I searched for it extensively.  I have managed to fix the problem by deleting AVG and Airmail and resinstalling them both.  They appear to be working again now
