Personal Identity NOT funtioning in Win 10. Continously requests a reboot to fix, but never does

It's the free version. I've been using it for YEARS, and aside from occasionally having to report to your company that you've created false positives (all in games I play on my computer) for supposed trojans found which your company has always been quick to create patches or fixes for with the next scheduled update (i.e. the next day), this is the first time I've encountered a major issue such as this. All the program continues to do is state, "Identity. Disabled. Fix now." and when I click "Fix Now," it fails to fix it. That is the only option I'm given. So, you all need to fix the issue because your program currently won't. This has now been going on for two days. Please fix this issue! I left Avast years ago to come to you. Please don't force me to find another program. I've liked AVG until now.

Since I find this on two of my personal laptop computers running Windows 10, running AVG for over 20 years on various machines, with no or little trouble up until now, do we assume that any AVG version running as of July 2016 has somehow been corrupted, and every installation needs to be replaced?
Or will this fix itself when the next update is done?

(0_o) Hmmm, was told today that it would cost me money to have AVG fix this problem. The way I figure it, the problem is yours to fix. I installed a free version on a customers computer. If they buy it is completely up to them. I've supported the marketing of AVG almost since it's inception. The man I talked to today in India understood that, and yet he still wanted payment to help us figure out what was going wrong with all the installs. Stupid me, I thought I'd be helping him to make a better product, but he already knew all about the problem & just wanted to get paid. This is where I drawl the line as many of my tech friends already have & choose to no longer help promote any of AVG's product lines. Techs like us from all across America helped make you into the company you are today, and in return you gave us a free way to temporarily secure our clients computers while they decided if they wanted to purchase your products or not. Now it will be techs like myself that tell all of the clients to avoid AVG like the plague, and we will be certain uninstall every copy we come across right down to the last trace in the registry that we run into & we'll install the next best thing startup company that's willing to support us techs, and not just leave us standing naked out in the rain forced to hold our you know whats in our hands. You've made it darn near impossible to get a fully functional free version of your product with all the website download games you play. As fast as we helped make you guys, is as fast as we'll help anyone BUT you now. IMO, when you lost the support of the nation's techs, you basically cut your own companies wrist. To profit oriented now, and forgot your own motto. Wayyyyy too many ads too, was making everyone very mad, so I guess this is just for the best. You guys go your way, and us techs here in America will take computer security in a whole new direction without you. Thanks for all the years of great service, & props to the teams that made that happen. I'm sorry, but I have nothing nice at all to say about your new management/marketing team & the direction they're taking your company, so I'll just say goodbye to them.

Paid version will have the below options
·         More than once a day.
·         Once a day
·         Once every 3 days
·         Once a Week
·         Once a month
·         Never
5. Select any one of those options and click on OK to save changes.

Hello S A,

Sorry for the inconvenience caused.
May I know the name of AVG program installed on your PC, is it free, trial or paid version?

Well, apparently you all fixed the problem with the latest update because it's back to normal.

HOWEVER:

@The AVG people here. I really do not understand why your standard response is to tell people to uninstall and reinstall the program when people come to you with legitimate problems which stem from your company's end. That is NOT the solution. As I stated above, the problem was on YOUR end, and therefore YOU need to fix it, not tell me or anyone else with the problem to uninstall and reinstall as that is not going to solve the issue. When someone comes here, we're looking for assistance and when we inform you that of what the problem is, when it started, and there is more than one person with the same problem, and they're not on the same OS as the other person with the exact same problem, it is more than obvious that it is a programmer problem/update issue, and it is your company which needs to find the solution to the problem. This is simply common sense.

It is very sad that your standard response is to tell people to uninstall the program.

  1. Once uninstalled download the installation file using the link : http://www.avg.com/download to reinstall your AVG program.
    5. Run the downloaded file to start the installation process.
    6. Follow the instructions on your screen.
    7. Complete the installation and restart your computer.
If you are still facing any error message please provide us with the screenshot so that we could analyze the issue more better. Please follow the instructions on the article http://avgclick.me/getscreenshot to create the screenshot.
Please feel free to get back to us for further assistance.
    Thank you.
