Wasn't sure which category this falls under
This is the second time that trying to print on my CanonTS9521c printer brings up a notice that the printer is offline. It isn't offline. There is a Rundll32 notice. I read in a post here that several people have had printers affected. The last time I received this RunDll32 the printer started working again after a few days and after (coincidence??) I ran AVG virus scan.
I read about Passive Mode but can't find the red slider that I'm supposed to click. I wanted to see if inactivating the AVG Antivirus would enable me to print. How can I temporarily shut off the antivirus to check?
Has anyone else had problems like this? The posts I referred to are from 2015.
I would appreciate any help.
Hello Mason.
Thank you for reaching us here.
Click this link (https://bit.ly/3izG1YJ) for instructions to disable AVG Protection temporarily and check if that resolves the issue. If it does, please disable individual components to further narrow down the issue.
I did this but still can't print. It keeps saying that the rinter is offline Do I need to restart the computer?
Or maybe the problem lies elsewhere. I don't know what I do to fix a Rundll32 error.
Maybe Uninstall and then reinstall the printer? I have had this computer for only 9 months and it has been one thing after another, starting with a reinstall of Windows 10 after only 4 months.
But thank you for the advice,
I haven't restarted the computer but will do so now.
It did print out the Network Configuration Page yesterday.
Under 2. Network Diagnostics 2-1 said Diagnostic Result-There is no problem
2-2 said Result Codes c-0
I have 3 pages of information.
will let you know how the restart works.

Yes I am here now. I still have the same problem plus another. I tried printing today but still can't. The printer downloaded an update, installed it, so I thought maybe that was the problem. NO
Now not only does it think it is offline bur it thinks it is turned off. I ran the troubleshooter but it wouldnt work because it thinks the printer is off.
This is so frustrating!!
I don't understand why I can't temporarily disable the AVG Antivirus!
I have the antivirus and the browser.
It is wireless. I read that because of the Rundll32 error it was probably the computer or Windows so now I am searching HP since the computer (which I purchased about 8 months ago and have had a lot problems with) is an HP Envy.
