Hi!
My dad was browsing through a local online newspaper and got an ad on the screen that said "AVG has found 11 malicious files on your phone". He clicked the add and it started an app install that eventually asked for his phonenumber. After receiving a text message his phone froze. When he got the phone to work he couldn't find the AVG installation from anywhere on the phone. Soon he noticed that he can't call or send text messages anymore, this lasted untill he rebooted his phone.
I haven't used any AVG products on Android before and I was just wondering, if this is due to a failed installation or has he been scammed?

We are sorry to know that. AVG installation in mobile will never ask for a phone number and this seems to be a spam message you received. We suggest you to check if there is any traces of this download and if there is any please remove the same and that should protect your device.
