Preventing my desktop software

I bought the Wallpaper Engine on Steam and it's a really amazing piece of software, but unfortunately AVG is constantly treating it like a threat. Every time I launch the desktop app, it prevents one file from being created, the launcher, which renders the software useless. I have tried making exceptions within the AVG protection regarding my Steam library, but this has not solved my problem, nor does running the program directly through Steam. I need a way of having AVG ignore the creation of files by the application so that it can start up properly. Thanks in advance to anyone who helps!

Hello Toby,

We are sorry to hear that.
Are you using the free, trial or paid version of AVG Protection program?
If it is the latest 2017 version then did you add the exception to each component?

Toby,
Thank you for providing us with the screenshot. We request you to uninstall AVG Program completely from the Control panel- Program list and restart your PC to check the status. Please contact us if the issue persists.

I am using the free version in 2017. Yes, I did add exceptions to both the resistance shield and the software analyser.

This appears when I launch the client either through the desktop app or therough Steam. AVG is not shown to be the direct culprit, but it is my antivirus software of choice and I have made sure it is not visible in the task manager before launching.

Toby,
Thank you for confirming it. Please try to provide the screenshot of the AVG Threat detection window that shows the Steam software as threat, so that we can check and assist you better.
