I have a PC running Windows 11. Am using an HP Laserjet P2030. There is nothing wrong with the printer. It was functioning just fine before a driver update likely ran afoul, probably via the driver updater I installed recently from AVG.
Ever since a recent driver update, I have been having problems with printer settings. Recently, when I went to print it kept closing the print menu in word. I had also been noticing that many print settings had not been available, but I found ways to work around this, until I couldn't use my printer.
After trying to locate the correct driver on my computer, which was no longer there and had been replaced with a similarly named, but not quite right driver, I uninstalled the driver software, rebooted and tried a reinstall. I then got the error message
D:\DotNet64\netfx MSI
MSI failed to load
The effort had to be aborted.
I believe at some point there was probably an inappropriate update.
What's the best thing to do?
I use my printer in my publishing work, so it's necessary to get this fixed as soon as possible. Buying a new printer is not an option.
Carol
