Product type 94

Some month ago my avg security changed to Product type 94 without explanation, on one older Netbook that operates with Win7 Starter.  This product has avg fingerprints all over it.  After an uninstal and reinstal of avg security all is well again EXCEPT that no-one will tell me what it was, how it got into my laptop and why. Multiple emails later to/from from an Indian (?) support center leave me still no wiser.  Each time, they request remote access to fix it but cannot tell me anything about the product. ( I wonder how they can fix a problem that they nothing about). I am not going down the remote assistance path.  I am not impressed with all this.  Has anyone else had this problem ? If so, what is the explanation please ?

Thank you for sharing the screenshot here and we are sorry for any inconvenience caused. It seems that your PC Tuneup program is corrupted. We would request you to uninstall it and re install to resolve the issue. Thank you.

Many thanks for the informative reply.
The uninstal/reinstal was done some time ago and system is back to normal.
I still wonder as to why at least 12 of your team could not give me this info in first instance and so avoid me venting my spleen upon them.
I trust that avg have cured whatever the problem was.
