Hi Marilyn,
We understand your concern regarding the AVG Quarantine. We would like to inform you that AVG will only block malicious websites. Also, please attach us the screenshot http://avgclick.me/getscreenshot of the detection message to assist you further.
Thank you!
Hello Marilyn,
Thank you for the screenshot, this is a known issue (the pop ups you're receiving) and we are working on a fix. We will contact you once the issue is resolved. However, the pop-up/message is downloading of the file was blocked, it mean the file was not saved in your computer hence it is not show up in the AVG quarantine.
Best regards,
Alok.
Akash said in a reply above that AVG only blocks malicious websites, yet I got this pop-up today saying "We've safely locked this file in your quarantine" ? This is the third pop-up message of this kind in the past couple months (but I didn't take a screenshot of the first two) and each time I've looked in the quarantine section it says it says "No nasty files here!: So is the file quarantined or not and if it AVG Free doesn't quarantine files, why does it give me this message?
The above screenshot was taken today saying a file was put in quarantine. If AVG onlyo blocks malicious websites as Akash said in the reply above, then why did I get this pop-up today saying a file was

I am using AVG Free version 17.4.3014. There have been two times where I was online and a notification popped up saying the website contained a file that AVG quarantined. But when I went into the quarantine folder, there was nothing in it. Is the file being deleted rather than quarantined? Thanks.
I must not be explaining it right. When I was on a website looking for a recipe, a message from AVG came up and said it found some kind of file that it quarantined. I can't get the detection message to take a screenshot of it because the message was a pop up notification from AVG. I don't understand why it said it quarantined a file if it didn't, but it eased my mind to run a full computer scan after I found the quarantine folder empty and no threats were found.
Thanks for trying to help, but I guess everything is OK with no threats found. . Next time I'll try to take a screenshot. before I lose the pop up detection message.

Well, then i appreciate that AVG blocked the downloading of the file to begin with. I look forward to a more clearly worded pop-up in the future. Thanks for your clarification, Alok.
Marilyn,
We appreciate your efforts and pleased to hear that there are no threats detected. We will assist you further once we receive the screenshot of the popups. Thank you!
