Ransomeware attached to AVG Tune-Up

Hello Midge,

I received an email this morning about RAT ransomware/malware had been added to my computer and I was demanded to pay X amount to a Bitcoin thing. Funny thing is, they actually told me what one of my passwords was!  I went to AVG Tuneup and ran and fixed any errors and then wanted to go to Zen. A screen came up and would not let me go to Zen. It was exactly like AVG antivirus Free, but wanted me to do a 2 month trial for an internet security upgrade.  I really thought it was from AVG, but the connection never went through. Anyway…I can't get to Zen and I would like to change me AVG password but don't know how and I am now gun-shy.  The password they told me is the same password I use to log in to AVG tune-up which makes me think this is where this RAT (Random Acess Something or other) is.
