With Ransomware turned on, I am unable to save files in Excel. As soon as I turn Ransomware off, Excel works again. I have re-installed both AVG and Excel but this does not resolve the problem. ANy ideas?

I would request you to add the excel application to Allowed apps list in Ransom ware protection settings.
Open AVG Internet Security.
Click on 'Hackers Attacks' tile.
Click Open on Ransom ware protection.
Select the Blocked/Allowed apps tab.
Click Allow an App, then select the application and click Open.
