Ransomware problem

Hi Avinash. Your irea does not work as there is still no Repair option. See the attached screenprint. No.1 is what I get if I click Change from the relevant bit on the  Uninstall Prog section of Control Panel. There are no Repair options there.
No.2 is what I then get if I click on the green button on (1) above. I just get a warning.

I run AVG Internet Security version 18.8.3071 on my W7 laptop. All works fine but occasionally the Ransomware part just turns itself off. There is no popup or other warning that this has happened, I only find it out by checking. I turn it on manually, it is fine for a bit then it turns itself off. All other parts are fine. My laptop is on all the time, so it is not shutdown-related. I have been on the AVG website, & it says to use the Repair option on the Uninstall Prog section of Control Panel - but that option does not exist, just uninstall or change.
Anyone got any ideas about this?

Hello, David.
We're here to help. Please click on 'Change', select Repair and follow the instructions on your screen to complete the installation. Reboot your PC once and verify if the issue is resolved.

David, we'd request to click on 'Change' on the screenshot you provided and run the setup.

Yes, David. Please restart your computer once. If you need anything else, do not hesitate to let us know.

OK well I have done it. I have no idea what it did, but it was swift. As to whether this will work, only time will tell!
Di I need to restart the laptop?
