Please reboot your device http://avgclick.me/rebootintosafemode in safe mode, click on this link to run Reset Access tool: http://files-download.avg.com/filedir/util/AVG_ResetAccess.exe and refer this article to uninstall http://avgclick.me/UninstallAVGAV your AVG program.
Kindly download your AVG remover and run it, then go to C: -> AVG Remover -> Bin ->pctremover.exe and avgfmwremover.exe (do not restart your device if prompted), then run avgremover.exe (it will automatically reboot your device).

I had the AVG free version. I couldn't do an update and got a general error code: 0x0643 followed by 0x0070643. I uninstalled the program using AVG remover. I have attempted to install the free AVG version but keep getting the same error and I am now in a loop - uninstall, install, error…
I have read the community posts, and this issue seems to pop up quite often…but not on re-installation, so not quite sure what to do now.
Any help would be greatly appreciated as I have no antivirus protect on at the moment.
