I followed all instructions, and the program still tells me that the subscription has expired, even though I paid for a new two year subscription. Also when I try to view my invoice for the new subsciption on my products page I get a server error, instead of my invoice. Thanks.

Open AVG, click My AVG > My Subscription. Click 'Remove license number' if you see that option and confirm the same. The old license number must still be in sync with your AVG.
If that does not help, please uninstall the program as per the steps in this link. Then, refer to instructions in this article on how to download and install it.

I renewed my subscription for avg internet security…unlimited, but my avg still informs me that it has expired. I followed all instructions supplied. So when will l have a fully functioning avg internet security programme? 2 Hrs have passed since l paid the subscription fee. Thanks.

Good. Your "unlimited devices" product should be activated only by entering AVG my account credentials.
If you have successfully removed the license from "my subscriptions" window, then click on "Log Out" and select "Log In".
Enter your AVG my account credentials and wait for 2-3 minutes to check the status.
Restart the PC, when prompted.

Paul, provide the screenshot of the error that you received while checking the details of your product in AVG my account.
You can post the screenshot here in your topic. Click on 'Answer' & then click on the 'Image' [mountain symbol] & follow the instructions.
When you look into "My Subscriptions" of AVG Internet Security, do you see any option as "remove license"?

Yes I see the option, but it tells me if I remove the license it will revert back to avg free. I found the avg license number and entered it, however that made no difference. The problem might be that my original avg was for three computers, not unlimited. Thanks.
