Realtime protection not finding threats found with scan

Hi Dale,
I understand your concern. Please be informed that the real time protection scans only the active applications running and files being used by the actions you perform on your PC. For example if you are downloading an infected file from internet, the real time protection will detect and block it.
When you run a full computer scan, it will scan each and every file on your device for hidden unsafe files, applications and viruses.

I've been running AVG w/ realtime protection ON, but just did a scan of my Mac that found 14 threats.  Any idea why these weren't found until I did the scan?
