Reimage and Auslogics - "Pop up" Signals and AVG Anti Virus Program

Hello Des. Sorry to hear about the inconvenience caused. I  would recommend you to uninstall all unknown/unused programs and browser addons.

Hi Everyone,
I'll try to be brief.  In early Mach a message appeared on screen from an organisation called Reimage advising thay observed that the system was running slow and there may be some infected filed. They advised to run a Repair program to fix the problem.  Stupidly I agreed, clicked to proceed and it started to go through some preliminary "fix" procedurs. However before going to the final step it requested a payment of around $25.  I clicked out.
Another program from Auslogics also appeared citing driver related problems. I did not proceed with this one.
The probelm is that whenever I utilize either Google Chrome or Internet Explore I get these "pop up" signals.  These are not only frustrating but in many cases prevent me from accessing information, lock up the system, and  have resulted in me having to power off the system, then powering back on as the only way to continue.
I have uninstalled both Reimage and Auslogics but to no avail.  The problem remains.  I have uninstalled and reinstalled both Google Chrome and Internet Explorer, but the problem still remains.
I have installed the Microsoft Security Malware program, run both a full and quick scan, but the problem persists.
A contact at HP advised to download the AVG Anti Virus System on a 30 day free trial which I have done.  I have run the program many times, some malware issues identified but I still get these pop up signals when I access both Google Chrome and Internet Explorer.
Sounds like a long story but can anyone help me and is this AVG program effective.  They say my computer is protected but it woul appear that the Malware is deeply imbedded.  Am I alone with this problem?  How do I get rid of it?

Would appreciate your help.

Regards
