Release date for AVG 2017/Avast and AVG

@Ranjani and Alan: Thanks both of you for your answers. I also found some information about AVG and Avast becoming one What the acquisition means for the 400 million Avast and AVG users (Q&A) - The Parallax

It mentions that Avast will roll out a new products early in January. I guess it will be both for Avast and AVG. This is only for my desktop computer (not for my new laptop Windows 10 which has Trend Micro). I have been using AVG on my desktop Windows 7 SP1 for many years now and I will keep using AVG on that computer forever :-). Looking forward to January :-).

Hello Sabbir,

Thank you for showing interest in knowing about our 2017 version release.
The new version release is under testing now and we couldn't assure you the exact timeframe of the release.
Yes, Avast acquired AVG and there might be change in the program name too but we didn't get any official information regarding this.
Please keep checking our official website http://www.avg.com/homepage to know about the latest release.
If the program name changes to Avast there shouldn't be any need of uninstalling the existing program, through a program update it will get updated.
Please feel free to contact us if you need any assistance.

Hello Aravindh,

Thank you for your kind post too :-). After many years that I have used different antivirus on and off and some are paid and free. These two FREE antivirus (AVG and Avast) are considered two of the best antivirus I have used and of course I will continue to use Trend Micro only on my new laptop :-). I will let when I get the AVG Free 2017 and the new product that will be released early January :-). You all have a great week

When will AVG release it's 2017 version? Most of the other antivirus companies has released it. Since Avast has bought AVG, will there be no AVG website since it has been bought up by Avast? Will I have to uninstall my AVG Free that is installed in my desktop computer and install Avast? Thanks.

Sabbir, The company will continue to offer both the AVG and Avast branded products for the foreseeable future and to support all customers and partners for both product lines. Have a look @ this link (https://support.avg.com/answers?id=906b0000000LSo8AAG).
