Hi Mariss,
We're glad to look into this & help you.
Initially, we'd like to clarify that AVG will not be installed on your computer as a bundled product along other free apps.
To further investigate, please provide us the link through which your son has downloaded, installed CCleaner.
However, you can run AVG Clear on your computer to completely remvoe the traces of AVG. To get a better clarity on the AVG programs installed on your computer, share us the screenshot of the programs list (Go to control panel - Programs - Programs & features).
This small image is the best I can do. When the children leave for school this morning I will try to find the CCcleaner he went to and send you the link. Thank you for replying. I would have stayed up and answered you but I have a big day today as it's halloween for the children. I'll go to the link for AVG Clear you gave me and hope it works.
My son was trying to get CCleaner - the free version. He is only 12 years old and didn't see the checkbox to unclick AVG. Now I can't remove AVG from my computer. I have tried every thing I can think of , from installed programs to getting to the file in drive C. I don't want or need AVG. I want it out of my computer. Since my son is only 12 years old I really think that when someone is sneaking a program through it should be large enough for all to see and there should be a way to remove it. Who can help with the removal?
I can't find the CCleaner he used and I had removed it from my computer because I had thought that AVG would go with it. I was wrong. But I just loaded another CCleaner and it is fine. The link given me for the AVG clean-up program doesn't work so I found one at another site but it is no good so I will be unloading it. However…since I can't get AVG out of my comp and to all intents I am told that it is not running but shows that it is in Taskmanager (and I just used it to shred a file) I have decided to keep my free full copy of AVG and get rid of Zonealarm that takes up a lot of room. They both have an antivirus and from what I understand a comp shouldn't have 2 copies of an antivirus at the same time. So I'll just run my free full package of AVG until the AVG Clear link is fixed and someone emails me that it is.
