Removed AVG Browser, and folder and bookmarks disappeared?

Hi Cindy,

We're glad to look into this & help you.
Initially, please clarify whether the bookmarks are disappeared in a different browser after uninstalling Secure browser or from the Secure browser itself after reinstalling it.
However, if you've synced your Google account, you'll be able to retrieve the bookmarks & access them across the devices.

Oh no :(...

You know, a big warning that folders and bookmarks would be removed, would have averted this. A secondary "ARE YOU SURE?" with an explanation of the consequences would be greatly appreciated.

I bought nearly all your services, and have had this plus another serious problem with it, and sadly therefore can't see buying again. I have, until now, loved AVG for probably nearly as long as you have been in business, and recommended it to many people. I feel afraid to now.

You might want to consider the above idea.

I didn't think that was possible? It asked if I wanted to remove browser data, I said yes, thinking that was history and cookies and the like... but not folders and bookmarks??

What I have now is it returned to my Google synched folders. |

Any way to recover the missing folders and bookmarks?

Thanks, Cindy

Hi there,
""Browsing data" was stated, but it was not stated that included bookmarks or folders, which to me are not "browsing data." This is data I saved, not which was merely collected by the software as I browsed. Had it said that I would NOT have removed it. I only found that information of what "data" meant later, by googling looking for a way to fix this.

The software was causing my nearly brand-new, perfectly operating, laptop to crash with the windows blue screen of death. It disrupted my business and took me a long time to find the culprit. (Which I did via looking at the Reliability records in windows.) As soon as I removed AVG, it quit happening.

Once you uninstalled AVG Secure Browser on your laptop, did the bookmarks disappear on your PC as well?
Also, did you try to re-sync your bookmark folders?
Awaiting your response.

I just saw this in the uninstall instructions (which I had not read before uninstalling)...

"Ensure the box next to 'Also delete your browsing data' is ticked to delete your profile information, such as bookmarks and history..."

I didn't know it would remove bookmarks! I did check te box, so it would seem I have lost this information totally?

Please accept our sincere apologies, Cindy.

This isn't the experience we wanted you to have had.
As you had mentioned in your previous post, you did receive an option to choose & delete your "Browsing data" (which includes Profile Information, History, Cookies & Bookmarks) & since you gave your consent to delete them (checked the box), the browser deleted your browsing data at the time of uninstallation.
Nevertheless, we'll certainly consider your valued feedback & try our best to improve our products & service.
You had mentioned that you've been facing another problem related to AVG, would you be so kind as to elaborate the problem & share us more details?
Thank you for understanding.
