Removing Windows upgrade instaer files

When Windows updated last week it somehow gave me a corrupted file or set of files.  Iv'e had to recover three times each time after letting the windows update.  It puts my screen in an endless loop and I've had to do an F11 boot to get past the holdup to recover to an earlier date.
My query is that in the Clean-up-potential page can I remove all these windows upgrade installer files with my "clean up windows and programs" in the Clean up potential  - system cashes & logs page then will I be able to continue my updates once these files are RE-downloaded with a manual update?   The warning on the sidebar seems to say that once these files are removed you can't upgrade/update the windows program…
thanks in advance, Rich

Hello Rich,
I understand this must be upsetting. May I know if you are referring to windows update files or the windows upgrade (from older version of OS to latest version) files?

1) If they are upgrade files, you can remove them from PC TuneUp's "System cache and logs". Please be informed that removing upgrade files will not roll back the upgrade. Please refer the steps provided in this article https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4027936/windows-go-back-to-windows-7-or-windows-81 to roll back to earlier version of Windows.

2) If they are update files, you can uninstall the recently installed updates from control panel as suggested in this article https://www.ghacks.net/2014/12/11/how-to-remove-installed-windows-updates-and-block-them-afterwards/ .
