I am a 77 year old pensioner. I Have AVG installed on only one machine.
My recent notification of annual renewal has TREBLED my fee from £25.00 to £75.00
Why?
In these troubled times, this is utterly disgraceful.

Hi Ami,

We understand your concern. The price difference is due to that we have made significant improvements to our detection rates over the last year and we expect to continue this investment as the threat landscape is getting more complex. Also we did improvements towards staying ahead of PC performance needs, repair mechanisms and thus had to increase the price.

We have sent you an email to your registered email address with sales support link to know about offers and discounts to purchase AVG Subscription at a lower price.
Thank you.

I am new to this, also 77 years old - looking at what we get charged and what we get for it as well as what we actually need.
I see that the pricing for the Full PROTECTION is relatively high compared to Norton for example, because the "A LA CART products list" for its parts are also relatively high for each small application.
You can get all of Norton's protection for the price of only one of the many (3 key) sections of the Full Product!)  Unfortunatly, I have found "Norton 360" to be Too Secure, and slowing my free use of my computers.
Because of the flexible pricing policy/strategy by AVG, I wonder what is actually needed, in addition to the very basic FREE AVG WWW protection application?
FREE antivirus and spyware, and other malware and maybe the warnings on unsafe links is mostly what I think I need, but I agreee, the little added security is very very costly, and I may not keep it or renew it.
I also had this question, but the moderators here did not publish it, and refered me to information I already seen, which is why I am asking, "What is worth paying for, especially when we use the safer Mac Computers?"
