Reverting Back to Free AVG Glitched?

So I had downloaded and installed Free AVG. Without my consent it automatically put me on a Pro trial. Ok whatever waited out the trial and then came the day to revert back to free AVG. I went to uninstall a program and I was able to select continue with free protection. Since then every single time I turn on my computer it says "Congratulations your license has been updated" blah blah blah and it wants to me run an install. I've done it three times now but without a hitch every time I turn on my computer there it is again asking me to run an install. The protection is on and seems to be working so I don't understand why I keep getting this message. Sometimes even the message will freeze and be stuck on my computer. I don't know exactly what to do. Any suggestions?

I'm running Windows 10 completely updated.

I've completely uninstalled again. The problem kept getting worse. The "Install" popup was now happening multiple times during the day and not just when the computer started for the first time. Not only was I constantly getting the popup but it was instantly freeze and be stuck there until I force closed the program.

Yes I'm sure, I just did it again now. I removed all AVG from Uninstall a Program…I then used AVGRemover a second time. I'm not downloading and installing from the link you provided. I don't want the pro though…it automatically puts my on the pro trial. Then I'm back in the same mess of getting it to revert back to free.
