Scan won't run on laptop

Hello Jean,

I understand the inconvenience.
The scan performed from AVG antivirus/Internet Security will first scan for bad browser add-ons which is applicable for all the browsers installed on your PC.
Check whether you have 18.3 version of AVG Internet Security installed on your PC.
To check that, open AVG Internet Security interface.
Click on "Menu–>About".
Perform (repair) of AVG Internet Security and check the status with the scan.
Keep us informed about the status.

on PC I can run the scan which checks browser, rootkits, and other in about 3-4 mins.
on laptop it gets thru browser (which one?)  but then hangs on rootkits at 6% and never finishes.
