Kindly disable AVG Internet Security using the below steps and check the issue.
- Right-click the AVG icon in the notification area of your Windows taskbar, then in the menu that appears, click the green slider next to Protection is ON.
- Click OK, stop to confirm that you want to disable all AVG protection.
- The slider turns red (OFF), and all AVG components are disabled. AVG protection will re-enable automatically the next time you reboot your PC.

I have a PC with Windows 10. I just installed a brand new wireless Canon printer/scanner. I can print to it, but I cannot scan. I've been on the phone with Canon where we conducted troubleshooting on both the printer/scanner and its connections to my laptop - no problem with either of those.
I then called linksys - my wireless network system. ran through a number of tests. No issue for them either.
Of course, Microsoft is anything but helpful- sending me to a myriad of online Q&A, including uninstalling anreinstalling Windows Fax and Scan. nothing worked. The only other thing I can think of is my AVG Internet Security won't allow access to the scanner for some reason?
I CAN PRINT, BUT I CAN"T SCAN
