Email Shield in AVG Internet Security scans for threats in your incoming and outgoing email messages. Scanning applies only to messages sent or received using mail management software, such as Microsoft Outlook or Mozilla Thunderbird.

Thanks Avinash! I use Gmail, the browser is FireFox which is all part of the Mozilla package… As is Thunderbird. AVG stamps  a "scanned" icon now on all my outflow. My curiosity is about attachments to the emails I send, not just the email message itself.

Does AVG scan outgoing email attachments as well as the email itself?
