A few months ago, I noticed that AVG 2015 was not finding tracking cookies anymore on my Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 computers. Previously, it found between 15 and 30 each time it ran on its weekly schedule.
I downloaded the latest version (16.81.7640) and it immediately found tracking cookies on its first run… but then when it ran on schedule, it found nothing.
When I run it from the menu on demand however, it finds them again. Today, it ran on schedule, finding nothing…but I ran it from the menu immediately after, and it found 17 tracking cookies.
A few years ago, the scan settings were separate for scheduled scans and on-demand scans. But now, I only see one set of settings for both, and “scan for tracking cookies” is checked.
Hello Lee, Please be informed that you have to enable the detection of tracking cookies option on the scheduled scan settings of AVG program so that the AVG program will scan for the tracking cookies during the scheduled scans. To enable detection of cookies in AVG:
Open AVG. Click Options in the menu, and then click Advanced settings. Click the + sign next to the Schedules item in the left part of the window. Click Scheduled Scan, and select settings. In the right part of the window tick the option Scan for tracking cookies. Click OK to save the settings.
Please feel free to contact us for further assistance. Thank you.
