Hi All,
My Gut tells me this is an impossible ask but I hope some of the Gurus here may have some idea.
Situation:
I use my Surface Pro 3 to connect to my work place servers via a F5 Networks portal from there in to Citrix.
I also use this device (with a separate profile for personal use) and have installed AVG as my Antivirus and maintenance tool (and its awesome). I have
AVG Internet Security &
AVG TuneUp running.
Problem:
I was unable to log in to the work portal one day (as I don't log in every day I can not be specific as to when this happened however I believe it was after an update approx. 2 weeks ago) and I started getting a time out message.
I spoke with my it team and after two weeks of flushing DNS caches and adding preferred roust to the table at their request, last night I deceived to have a look myself.
I discovered after some digging that the AVG secure DNS component was causing the issue (am assuming our internal .local network DNS is not considered secure by AVG (we have had some issues recently with intrusions into the work network especially issues with our Exchange server).
Now I think the secure DNS is a valuable feature and I would dearly like to keep it activated however the only way to get onto the work server is by disabling that component.
The Kicker:Due to the way AVG works across all local user account when I disable the secure DNS in my work profile it also disables it in my personal profile....... so I can't just disable it in my work profile (safe in the .local domain) and then have it active in my personal profile (connected to the WWW).
Solution:
I would really appreciate any possible solutions to:
- Have Secure DNS turned OFF Profile1 and ON in Profile 2
OR
- Preferably add and an exception for the .local DNS into the secure DNS to allow me to leave secure DNS active at all times but ignore my work place server.
Thank you all in advance for you help and if you require any additional info please let me know.
Cheers,
Paul

Hi Bhuvaneswari,
Thank you for your quick repsonse.
I have followed the steps above and changed the profile from public to private for the work network and the Ethernet adaptor.
Unfortunatly as soon as I re-enabled the Secure DNS feature I am unable to connect to the network resource.
I dont belive this is a fairewall issue and more our internal DNS on teh .local domain is not recognised as secure by AVG. The component is to p[revent people from being redirected to dummy websites via DNS redirects on teh .local thats not an issue but as its not recognised as a asecure DNS AVG is blocking the resolving of the portal site.
Cheers,
Paul
