neither "holds". The VPN turns on when asked but does not remain on. This problem is long-standing. I was advised to switch to a couple of different parameters but those had no positive effect. Thank you.

To check this cause,please check to connect Internet to your device via alternate network source such as mobile data and observe the VPN connection to Seattle and Phoenix location.
Please check and let us know if changing the network had helped.

This (MAC)BookPro connects to Spectrum WiFi which we have for the house Internet and for our one iPhone.
I clicked around on the streaming/etc. icon and now today, the VPN seems to consistently hold.
It appears I am okay??

We never put the VPN onto the iPhone. I think it's on the iMAC. I will check. Jane
