"Secure VPN" doesn't have a valid IP configuration

Hello Frank,
Let's have a look into this together.
We recommend you to connect to servers which are P2P friendly and shouldn't block VPN traffic. You will find them when you open your AVG Secure VPN, click on Change Location and then tap P2P on the left corner of the software. They include servers which are in Czech Republic, Prague or France, Paris. Please try them all and let me know if there's any difference to your connection.
If the issue persists, please share the screenshot of the message appear (that you refer) and the type of internet connection (wired or wireless) that you use.

I just purchased a 2year subscription to AVG Secure VPN.  Regardless of which location I use, I continually receive the message noted in the topic line.  I am running a laptop pc with Windows 10.

When I turn off the VPN running on our password encrypted personal network at home, my internet connection is just fine (everything normal).  But when I turn on the VPN, I receive continuous messages the VPN is trying to resolve the IP configuration and when it does connect, I have no Internet.

I saw a similar problem referenced on this site, but what was of no help to me was the answer provided to the user appears to be hidden from any new poster of the same issue.
