I am having the same problem. I get the same error. I downloaded the AVG removal tool, rebooted and it finished the uninstall. Downloaded the newest exe and installed. I keep getting the same error when trying to change any settings on the Firewall, such as changing to Interactive. What do I do now?

Hi, I am also having this issue, have used the uninstaller several times and reinstalled to no avail. I have AVG Business Edition 2013. Please help!

Hello so I did as you said and now get a new error. This is what is says: "an error occurred when saving the configuration: unexpected type of the registry value"
So how do I fix that?
I try to edit the acceptions and it does this when I click apply

Hello, I seem to have the same problem with the latest version and i have followed the steps you have already stated and i'm still getting the same error, sorry for reviving this thread but it was the closest to the problem i have
After new update I can't add folders/files to exception list, intact I can't change any AVG 2015 setting at all. This is also the case when I'm trying to change any settings of AVG, anythign from update and scan schedule to the actuall enabling and dissabling AVG. All I get is this error message "an error occurred when saving the configuration: specified file was not found". Looked online and seems like no one has a fix. Already tried re-installing and deleting the cgf file nothing works. What did you guys do and how do I fix this? I'm the only account on the computer so I'm already an administrator and should not be having this issue. Any help would be great.

The issue is that i'm getting a false positive and im trying to add it to an exception but it wont do it, i only get "an error occurred when saving the configuration: specified file was not found" both before and after i uninstalled and reinstalled
Devin, I would request you to run AVG remover tool based on your OS (32-bit or 64-bit) to completely remove AVG and then re install. To determine whether your OS is a 32-bit or 64-bit, please click on this link. http://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/827218
