Hello:
I have a desktop Dell 518 computer running Windows 10 Pro (64 bit). I have been getting some occasional unexplained BSOD occurrences lately. In trying to find the potential problems I run the Cleanup-Image and RestoreHealth using the DISM.exe app in online mode in administrator mode. I then ran the SFC /SCANNOW utility run as the Administrator yielding a CBS.log. When I did that I'm getting error messages stating that some Windows file are corrupted and could not be fixed. But per the CBS.log these are file related to AVG. The text says component files related to my AVG Internet Security paid app cannot be verified for AVG140.CRT and for AVG.VC140.MFC.
While searching online for clues to help solve this, I have seen a similar discussion several years of this type of issue when running AVAST on Windows 10 Pro (64 bit) machines. See: https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=186903.0
Same exact problems I'm experiencing with AVG. From what I have heard AVAST and AVG are sister companies and apparently share some "under the hood" similar files, etc.
I have done a uninstall of AVG and re-install and the problem is still there.
Can anyone help me with this?
