I did disable AVG IS, as instructed.

MS Office files were still somewhat slow to open, so I re-enabled AVG IS.

However, I noticed that by adding MS Office, Acrobat Pro, and Adobe Creative Suite to the "Do not reduce load" list in the "Specify exceptions" dialog box in AVG TuneUP, not only the files opened faster from those applications, but also the applications launched faster.

I installed AVG Internet Security and AVG PC TuneUp.

I noticed that whenever I try to open a file from within an application (MS Office, Acrobat Pro, InDesign, etc) it takes noticeably longer for the application to open and present the file.

I believe that my settings may be a bit restrictive (I had a similar issue with other AV programs before). However, I failed to find in  AVG IS or TuneUp the parameter or setting that would speed up the file opening time.

Any clue?
