Slow VPN, ISP sabotage?

Since February 2, 2019 my AVG VPN through Optimum Online in New York metro area has been throttled to 85mbps. Before that my typical speed without VPN was over 110mbps and with VPN was between 100 and 110mpbs. My Optimum max speed went up to 200mbps in May after the end-of-new-customer-deal price hike. Through my Optimum wireless router, my VPN speed is still 85mbps, while the speed is over 200mbps with the VPN disabled. I have tried another VPN as a test and got the same slow results. No VPN should be losing 60% of my ISP rated speed. I suspect there is some hanky-panky going on since everything was fine until the beginning of January. The modem and router are going to be replaced next week, but I doubt there will be any  change in this behavior. If someone else has seen this kind of problem, kindly reply. I need to find out what is going on.

I have discovered a rarely accessed program running in the background of my computer, called Killer Wi-Fi, which has been controlling as opposed to merely monitoring my computer's wireless. The program was limiting my bandwidth to the previous ISP provision of 100Mbps with no indication of its actions. I adjusted it manually to current provisions and all of my Internet speed increased proportionately. I apologize for my rudeness. I request that my subscription to AVG VPN, which I had set to not renew, be reset back to renewable state.

Hello Kurt,

We understand your concern.

You may sometimes experience a slower internet connection when using Secure VPN. This is because VPN encrypts traffic and data before sending it to a server.

Depending on the distance and capacity of the server, this process may cause a slightly slower, but safer, internet connection.

Thank you for understanding

Here is a Google drive link to a spreadsheet downloaded from speedtest.net of tests performed since December 23, 2018.

Kurt, we understand your concern.

We are unable to receive the screenshot from your previous post.

Please follow the below steps to attach the screenshot

Click on "Answer" & then click on the "Image" [mountain symbol] & follow the instructions.

When you select the link in the previous message, make sure the tool selection at the top of the page is set to Google Sheets.
I captured two single speed tests as png images, which is the minimal information that will show something is awry but says nothing about when it started. This bulletin board software will not accept the png images I am telling it to upload. No matter how many times I select Insert, nothing happens. I am becoming less and less impressed with AVG technical support with each passing day.

Kurt, we appreciate your efforts on this matter.
Since you have cancelled the auto renewal service for AVG Secure VPN subscription, we will not be able to enable it again.
Hence, we request you to renew it manually.
Thank you.

That is the same scripted drivel I have read ten times already. If your VPN has to use 60% of my 200mbps Internet speed then your VPN is not worth the money. There was virtually no decrease in speed before February 2, 2019. Now AVG VPN decreases the speed for which I am paying a good deal of money, by 60%. If this situation does not improve I will not be renewing my subscription to your VPN.

I have a spreadsheet of all speed tests performed since December 23, 2018. This bulletin board does not allow attaching such a file for your view. A simple screen shot of two instances will not show you what you need to know. I tried sending an email but your system won't accept it, no replies to your bulleting board messages. How can I send the spreadsheet to you?

As far as the spreadsheet is concerned you must select the Google Drive link in the previous message to view it. It will not appear in this bulletin board.

It is not a screenshot. It is a spreadsheet. Do you know the difference between a picture and a spreadsheet?

Yes. Since we will not be able to access Google Drive link from here, we requested to post it as a screenshot.
This time we received it when you did it from Edge browser. We will also check this with our web team.
We confirm that there are no other possibilities in this matter and the only recommendation is to change the location.
Thank you.
