I, too, have the latest iteration of AVG Ultimate. The Internet Protection (Security) piece has done two things to me that irritates.
1. Slooowed computer and printing. Intolerable.
2. It causes my Unifi switch and AP controller to cease functioning. The firewall is blocking a port that I use. So that may be fixable. However, the fact that it slows down the computer is NOT something that I can tolerate.

Since installing AVG Zen on my compuer running Windows 7 everything has slowed own enormously- eg Live Mail now takes a good 2 minutes to appear after clicking, and the internet connection takes about 3 times longer.
Anyone else had this problem, and if so, do you know what can be done about it before I uninstall the whoile thing and go elsewhere.

I certainly understand that you are facing issue with your Email and internet connection after installing our AVG Protection. I apologize for the inconvenience caused. To confirm this let us first disable our AVG program temporarily, to do this please follow the instructions mentioned in this link: http://avgread.me/1GnMD3N . When the Zen window is opened please click on Protection circle and you will get the AVG Internet Security window opened, in this window you have to follow the instructions to disable the AVG program.
Once it is successfully disabled, please check whether your issue is fixed and do let us know the status of this.

I have multi platform AVG and I noticed too that my laptop is running ridiculously slow. I finally realized AVG is the culprit. When I right click the icon in the system tray and try to disable it temporarily, the stupid window hides behind the tray that opens with all the icons! So I am unable to disable it this way. Will try another way but am really mad that I paid for this software that has been a huge headache. I was only able to install it on one PC and the other fails everytime with an error. Sending emails to support got me no where. One time, I called and they said they wanted to "support" me by taking control of my PC and I said "no thanks!". Getting rid of this junk now and am so upset that I lost my money!
