Did anyone ever get this issue fixed or has everyone simply given up on using avg? I can only find dozens of discussions about people having this exact same issue but not a single one of those discussions have even the tiniest hint on how to fix it.
There are no popup.. and even if there was, I do not have the reaction time to screenshot a popup that lasts for 0.01 second.
You can literally search every earlier issue like this one and see their responses, its literally the same. AVGUI takes focus away from what ever your pc is currently focused on, no popup, no visual effects, nothing. It literally removes focus from the program thats currently in the foreground and nothing more. Like a virus one might say, as if it starts a program in the background without telling you.
As I've said, if this new update does not fix the issue I've had with AVG over the last few months I'll move on, and again; There is no popup, nothing to screenshot, it removes focus from whats currently focused and nothing more, that leads to minimizing fullscreen games or just removes focus from lets say your webbrowser in the middle of you typing something. Annoying as fuck and too invasive to be worth sticking around.

Are you using AVG Antivirus free now?
It is necessary for us to check what is causing this message to appear, hence if you have program installed, we will be able to perform some analysis and come to a conclusion.
As so many others over the years I'm having issues with AVGUI.EXE stealing focus from other applications, it does not open the AVG UI, nor does it show popups, it simply takes away focus for a second and disappears. Like so many others I've used a focus logger, and I can confirm that each time this happens its the AVGUI.EXE process that stole focus, this has been happening over the last 2 months, and its infuriating as sometimes I play games that simply does not allow for them to lose focus without crashing or corrupting my save, I used to be a AVG Ultimate customer, I've used AVG for .. Well all my computer using life, however AVG has officially crossed the line into nuisance and I may have to go to one of their competitors if this is not fixed.
AVG version: (Should not matter since its over the last 2 months and I keep my AVG updated, and yes I've restarted, yes I've repaired, yes I've reinstalled): Prev: 17.8.3036 - Current: 17.9.3040
and i am on windows 8.1

Yes, I switched to the free version a few months ago, I dont believe I had this issue during my year of being premium, at least not that I remember. Could just be it happened a lot rarer back then, but at this point its annoying since I've completely lost the will to play games I enjoy a lot due to the fact AVG crashes them when it takes focus away (The games being older games as such there is no such thing as fullscreen windowed mode and all that fancy stuff)
