Split Tunneling for MS Outlook

Is there a way to setup split tunneling for MS outlook for Windows? I have 4 email addresses that I check regularly and they are all being blocked until I turn off AVG Secure VPN. Setting up a route did not seem to help.

Hi @Patrick_Clancy,
Split tunneling is currently only available in the Android VPN app.
To try to resolve your issue please try the following:

  1. Connect to a different VPN region and retry
  2. Connect to a different VPN protocol and retry.

Yes tried all of the above with no effect. So the only way to use AVG Secure VPN is to be constantly jumping on and off.

I feel your pain on this one — I ran into the exact same thing with multiple mail accounts. The Windows client really doesn’t offer per-app split tunneling, so everything Outlook does goes through the tunnel whether it helps or not. What eased it for me was switching to WireGuard with a server close to my location, which at least sped up the sync noticeably. If that still isn’t enough, some people just use webmail for the accounts that keep breaking and leave the VPN on. Hopefully they’ll bring proper split tunneling to the desktop app eventually.

Yeah, I think that AVG Secure VPN is kind of an unfinished product that needs some work. I have been able to get mimic to work for a while but then it fails.

I have been working with support to try and get a fix, the ticket was escalated and (Naturally) i have not heard back from them.

Thank you for your input.
