OMG, this is so upsetting. I have wasted the good part of an hour trying to make this work and good GOD! Why can't you just make this work with Firefox?!
Hello Yves,
Sorry to hear that. Have you disable the Web shield and check the status?
Oh I forgot to mention that with my private Wifi (at home), it works fine. I can access any website I want. But with the Wifi at work, it doesn't work…
I am sorry to hear that the issue persists.
Please follow the below steps to import certificates to Google Chrome and check if that fix the issue.
o start with, it is necessary to obtain a copy of the certificate.
This can be found with Keychain Access with Keychain "login" and category "Certificates". Search for "avg". You should find "AVG trusted CA". Select it and export it from the menu bar under "File" then "Export Items…". Save it somewhere accessible.
Now, the certificate needs to be added to Google Chrome's certificate manager.
Open Google Chrome->Settings->Advanced->Privacy and Security->Manage Certificates->Import.
If you face any difficulties, please let us know and we will assist you further.
Thank you for the information, Yves.
I have forwarded the case to the senior team for getting suggestions.
Keep checking this post to know about the status.
Your patience is much appreciated.
Hi Alok,

Hello Raymi,
I'm sorry for any inconvenience caused. This issue is most likely caused because we are adding AVG certificate into the Firefox. We would request you to try and add the AVG certificate to Firefox manually to resolve the issue.

Now, the certificate needs to be added to Firefox's certificate manager.
Open Firefox's Preferences > Privacy & Security tab. Scroll down to Security > Certificates. Open "View Certificates…". Click on "Authorities" then "Import…". Import "AVG trusted CA" and trust it to "identify websites". You can select "identify mail users" if you want.
Best regards,
Alok.
Hello,
Whatever the site I try to connect using Firefox, even Google or Amazon, the site is blocked by AVG Web Shield. Certificate info mentions "AVG Unstrusted".
Even AVG website is blocked.
I could understand this issue for some sites but not for all, especially for those from Google or others.
Have tried to reinstall completely AVG without success to solve my issue.
Is anyone experiencing the same?
Hello Yves,

Yves,
Thank you for the information. Please run this terminal command "/Library/Application Support/AVGAntivirus/hub/usermodules/020_cert.sh" and restart your computer to check the status.
If the issue persists, please provide me the version of AVG and also let me know if you have installed any extensions on your Chrome browser.
Raymi,
Thank you for letting us know.
We're glad we were able to put you at ease.

Raymi
R St, are you experiencing issue with loading web pages on Firefox when AVG Web shield is enabled? If yes, did you try to add the security certificates to Firefox manually as suggested initially on this thread?
Yes, I tried to disable the web Shield and it works but it says that I'm no longer protected. Can I disable the Web Shield and leave it like that?
Yves,
Our senior team checks your case history, to analyze the issue further, they need diagnostic logs. I have sent you an email with steps on how to collect and upload the data required for analyzing your issue. Please check your inbox and spam/junk folder as well.
Still no luck… I reinstalled AVG Antivirus but it still doesn't work. As I read other posts, it seems that I'm not the only one facing issues with the new version (18.2) of AVG Antivirus and its Web Shield…
