Hello,
I recently had to re-install a game on Steam. This game has about 30 purchased DLC (down loadable content). Each DLC come with a manual in PDF format.
Havng spent 2 days frustating days attempting to re-install the DLC I realsie that the proemlem may be that the PDFs are being held in the Adcanced Threat section of AVG Internet Security.
The only only option available is to "resolve all" which then forces Steam to reload them, etc.etc.
Is there a solution?
Many thanks
Larry
Hello Lawrence,
We are sorry for the inconvenience.
We will surely help you to resolve the issue with your pdf file.
Please note that when you have installed AVG Secure Browser, system default app for PDF (Adobe application) might changed to AVG SB browser.
We advise you to change the default application for PDF to Adobe application using the below steps:
On the Start menu, select Settings > Apps > Default apps. Select which default you want to set, and then choose the app for PDF format.
If the issue still persists, please share us the screenshot where the pdf file is added to advanced threat section using this article (https://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?l=en&urlName=AVG-Create-screenshot&q=screenshot&supportType=home).
Thank you.

Hello Midhun,
The issue did persist after changing the default PDF application from AVG to Adobe. However, the article for which you sent the link, was very helpful and enabled me to remove the problematic Steam PDFs from the Sensitive Data Shield. My game now loads and plays.
AVG is very complex especially for the average PC user. I would be tempted to say it was too complex if it wasn't for the help that is available to sort problems.
So many thanks,
Larry
Thank you for sharing the screenshot, Lawrence.
Could you let us know if the issue still persists after changing the default PDF application from AVG to Adobe?
If the issue still persists, refer to this article & exclude the game PDF files from the AVG Sensitive data shield.
Keep us updated.
I believe I have changed the default for PDF to Adobe; it was set to AVG.
I have attached a screenshot as requested.
Hope this helps
Thank you,
Larry
