Stopping an AVG popup

I'm not sure I understand, is that you way of saying I can't stop the pop up even though it doesn't work?

I keep getting this pop up every day when I turn my computer on saying " free upgrade available, Upgrade to internet security for improved protection. Free trial"  then has two buttons " keep existing protection" or "upgrade now" nether of the two buttons work, and nether does the X button in the top, I have to go in to my task manager processes to manually end the task… I would like to stop this window from continuing to pop up, How can I do this?
