I randomly got a strange popup from AVG which says:
Something's blocking our scan
We're trying to keep your browsers safe from sketchy add-ons, but a potentially malicious piece of code is getting in our way.
Would you like to resolve this.
RESOLVE NOW
Actually that window from AVG is the sketchiest thing I have ever seen! There are no details, there is nothing in the AVG logs, there is no indication whatsoever what the actual problem might be, or what was changed to "resolve" the issue. NOTHING!
What the heck is this all about? This almost looks like a virus impersonating AVG, right? If this is actually from AVG, this is the worst and most-sketchiest thing they have ever done!
I have the same problem as described by Mike. I have pressed the Resolve Now button and after a while a message, nice and green, is shown that everything is OK and I can proceed. I don't a positive answer on Mike's complaint, somebody at AVG must know for sure what this is?
Thanks,
Vishnu Vardan
I will certainly check this for you.
Please send me the screenshot http://avgclick.me/getscreenshot of the threat message to assist further.

Steph, The scan would have been blocked by any browser addon. Clicking on "Resolve now" should fix the issue. Please make sure that you have all the components green in color. Initiate a full computer scan again and check if the scan is getting completed successfully.

When I clicked the RESOLVE NOW button, the screen went away. No message or anything.

I literally do not understand – I did include the screenshot in my original post!!
Thank you for the information Mike,
It seems the issue is because of browser add-ons. In this case, I request you to reset your all browsers, reboot your computer once and check the status.
However, may I know your default browser (Google Chrome/Internet explorer)?
Regards,
Alok.
