Many thanks for your help,it's much appreciated. I ended up uninstalling AVG then reinstalled it with restarts but still had the same problems. However,looking at Task Manager i disabled the Windows Installer & everything now seems to be working ok. Once again thanks for your help.

Suppose i was expecting too much thinking i'll be able to speak with a human being at AVG so here goes…
I'm unable to update my paid for AVG (licence number ending 5288) as the message tells me that my subscription has expired. My records and the AVG 'My Account' confirms it actually ends on 27th April next year,can anyone please advise how to resolve this?
Also,updates are failing because it has detected a running installation which i must first complete but nothing is being installed,it's been like this for a couple of weeks.
