Enough with the multiple posting! Geez, same post 7 times.
I strongly urge that a new forum menu option be created akin to MELTDOWN SPECTRE FLAW.
I have found one mention of it on this forum, but the topic is sufficiently impactful that it should have a forum section to itself. Moreover, since AVG has not made any official statements concerning remediation of AVG Antivirus, information here is all the more critical. Since most Intel-based devices whereupon AVG Antivirus is installed will remain vulnerable until AVG Antivirus is compatible with the Microsoft patch, I think more comment from AVG is not only prudent, but advisable. I don't even want to know how many customers the company is losing by staying silent on this issue.
@ Rob Melvin
Rob, From the Alok Kumar (AVG Technologies) posting you'll see that the situ is presently being checked out by the AVG developers.

Thank you for not bothering to read my post.
Seconded. I have an almost identical post to the above that is pending review. I could have saved myself the time…
Hello,
AVG 2017 is compatible with the Windows patch and we protect against the malware.
Best regards,
Alok.
How do you not have an official response to a major flaw that effects all of your users? Customers have to search and search to find this obscure post about it? All your comptitors have a released a staement or an update. I guess I need to fill out the support request form to get any information sicne IM a paying business customer? You would think AVG would be all over this? This is the speardsheet from MS devolper about AV programs updating to comply with new patch. This issue came to light two days ago. AVG still has no official statement about it… Microsoft Windows January 2018+ antivirus security update compatibility matrix - Google Drive

Hello Lynn,
I'm really sorry about the previous reply. Thank you for bringing "Meltdown/Spectre" to our notice. We are aware of the new windows update and checking it with our developers. Once we receive an update, will post it here.
Best regards,
Alok.
