Telephone Calls indicating messages being sent to Microsoft

Thanks for responding.  I also had technical personnel via Dell and HP (IYOGI) tell me the same thing but that is just their scam to get me to buy software.  I of course would never let anyone access my pc.  I know the dangers.

I keep getting phone calls from someone who says they are with Microsoft and my computer is sending them messages that their are international viruses affecting my computer and I need to buy software to avoid this.

I am not a computer expert but I am assuming this is a scam.  Does anyone else get these calls.
