We regret to inform you that currently AVG Internet security is not supported in ARM based Windows, while AVG Tuneup and AVG Breachguard are supported.

Hi All,

Has anyone tried installing their AVG internet security on a Windows 11 'Arm-based PC'?

After downloading the installer file, when I tried to run it on my new Microsoft surface pro, I get a pop-up from the Windows' Program-Compatibility-Assistant with the following message:

"This app can't run on this device:
AVG antivirus
AVG Technologies CZ
This app can't run because it causes security or performance issues on Windows. A new version may be available. Check with your software provider for an updated version that runs on this version of Windows."

When I click on 'Learn More' I go to a Windows Arm-based PCs FAQ page.  It states: 

  • Some third-party antivirus software can’t be installed. You won't be able to install some third-party antivirus software on a Windows 11 Arm-based PC—unless it’s been made or updated for an Arm-based PC. However, Windows Security will help keep you safe for the supported lifetime of your Windows 11 device.

Seeing I've paid for AVG, I'd like to have my AVG subscription running on this new computer of mine,. If anyone has seen this issue and worked out how to fix it or get around it, I'd love to hear from you.
