            I have a solution that I hope will work for you.  I had the same problem you had when you loaded the AVG program. I tried everything fo 2 days, and then finally found a soloution.
When my computer starts up, for about  2 seconds, I get the manufacturer's screen, with the possibility of clicking Tab or Del. I clicked Del, and amazingly, my welcome screen came up.  I logged in, and immediately deleted  AVG PC Tune Up, and AVG Driver.  Everthing seems Ok with my computer now. Hope you are as fortunate as me.
I have a very high regard for AVG and don't know why they would suggest you call a repair tech when their suggestions would not work. I tried everthing they suggested with no success.
