Hello. I need urgent help. Four days ago, after using AVG AntiVirus on my Samsung S21+, thousands of my photos disappeared from my phone. They were also backed up to Google Photos, but they disappeared there as well. Google Support tried to recover them but replied that they could not find any recently deleted files. I did not intentionally delete these photos. Could AVG AntiVirus have caused this? Is there any log, quarantine, or way to recover the deleted photos or reverse what happened? These photos contain many years of family memories and are extremely important to me. Thank you for any help.
It’s possible, but unlikely, that AVG caused the deletion. Check AVG Quarantine, scan history/logs, Samsung Gallery Trash, and Google Photos (Trash, Archive, Locked Folder, and the correct account). If the photos were deleted on the phone, the deletion may have synced to Google Photos. If neither Google nor AVG has a record of them, recovery may require a professional data recovery service. I hope you’re able to recover them.
